We encourage our members to get together on their own and attend training classes with their dog/dogs. There are many training facilities around the state where you can take your dog. The club also tries to set up "socializing & informal training groups".
Our members also get together, in small groups, for puppy play dates / puppy litter "viewing's" / dog shows hosted by other clubs / informal lunches / informal groups get together to take their dogs or pups out to visit at local parks or favorite hiking places. Call a board member close too your location to join in one of the gatherings.

Directions to show: From 295N or 295S, take exit 8A (RT. 7 S, North Providence) Go 2.5 miles, at 2nd traffic light (There will be a gas station on the left at the light): take a Right onto Whipple Rd
Follow all the way to the end, at the stop sign, take a left, the Portuguese American Club is the first building.

The GSDC of GNH will support the entry at the Greenwich Kennel Club All Breed show. The judge will be Edletraud Laurin. We will post more particulars as we receive them. The club will offer a "trophy" for the BOB and BOS. We expect to get a big ring for the day if we have a large entry. It is likely that our breed will go on in the afternoon so we can have the larger ring.

I want to inform you that once again the GKC has negotiated a special rate of $70 ($78.40 incl. tax) per night for Thursday – Sunday at the Four Points by Sheraton, 426 Main Ave., Norwalk, CT 06851, 203 822-9821. You need to ask for the Greenwich Kennel Club rate. You might want to inform your members and exhibitors as this is a considerable savings for lower Fairfield County, CT. They also allow well-mannered dogs. This hotel is considered part of our “show grounds” and therefore any abuse would be subject to a bench show hearing. Please help us maintain our good relations with this hotel and speak to anyone appearing to abuse our privileges. If necessary, please do not hesitate to inform me as I will be staying at the hotel Friday and Saturday nights. I would suggest that you make your reservations as early as possible to enjoy this rate. The deadline is June 1st to obtain this rate.____Joy
